HomeBuilder provides eligible owner-occupiers, including first home buyers, with a grant of $25,000 or $15,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home. HomeBuilder will assist the residential construction market by encouraging the commencement of new home builds and renovations.

To access HomeBuilder, there are several eligibility requirements that must be met.

In order to receive the HomeBuilder grant you must be an Australian citizen, aged 18 years or older, and be an owner-occupier. Your yearly income must not exceed $125,000 for an individual applicant or $200,000 for a couple, and this is to be based on your 2018-19 tax return or later. The building contract you enter into must be dated between 4th June 2020 and 31st March 2021, with construction commencing within six months of this contract date. Also, the value of your new home build must not exceed $750,000 for the house and land.
